Hi there! I’m Crystal Contreras, and I’m thrilled to welcome you to Empowered Coaching. My journey into education began over 17 years ago, fueled by a passion for helping children discover their unique strengths and overcome learning challenges. With a background as a Dyslexia Therapist, I’ve had the privilege of working with many incredible students, each with their own story and potential.

Empowered Coaching is more than just a tutoring service; it’s a place where children aged 6 to 11 can find personalized support in Reading Fluency (both in English and Spanish) and Math. I specialize in reaching high-needs students, including those with ADHD, dyslexia, and dysgraphia. By understanding each child’s learning style, I tailor strategies that make learning not just accessible, but also enjoyable and rewarding.

One of the most fulfilling parts of my work is seeing the transformation in my students. Those moments when a concept clicks or a new strategy brings success are the highlights of my day. I believe every child can achieve their potential with the right guidance and support.

At Empowered Coaching, we also host vibrant book clubs where young readers dive into culturally proficient novels. These sessions are packed with activities like text analysis, STEM projects, and creative writing, making learning a multidimensional adventure.

When I’m not teaching, you might find me curled up with a good book, exploring new educational methods, or spending quality time with my family and our adorable dog, Mr. Beast.
